Welcome to the home of Shiloh Boxers and Bulldogs
We have been actively involved in the dog scene since 1970 when we first registered our affix SHILOH with the Kennel Club and have been International Championship Judges since 1990.
Stuart was born into a house hold at the end of World War 2 with two Bulldogs named Professor Jode and Jeep. As he grew up he fell in love with a cropped eared Boxer newly imported from Germany. He then persuaded his reluctant parents that he wanted a Boxer. His father, who was in a wheelchair, gave in BUT said it must be a small breed and a male! Off they went and bought a Corgi. However it was poorly reared, full of worms & flees so the vet suggested they returned to Breeder. Stuart then saw an advert from a leading Boxer kennel (Gremlin & Summerdale) advertising a 5 year old cropped eared Boxer bitch free to good home. Stuart was 14 at the time and persuaded his mother to drive him down to Hampshire the next morning only to be told the bitch had gone.
Stuarts disappointment was obvious to the owners . They then came up with a plan that they would let him have an 18 month old bitch on breeding terms which meant he would keep her and return her to have puppies. Of course Stuart jumped at the opportunity and Summerdale Selmus Debutante (Debbie) came into his life apart from when she had various litters until she died at 13 yrs. She was famous for producing 2 Champions in her first litter to the newly imported Rainey Lane Sirocco, namely Ch Summerdale Shamus and Ch Sumerdale Snazy. She saw him through Agricultural College and his first job travelling around the south of England visiting farms and staying in hotels. The car was her second home. He had a sympathetic boss who turned a blind eye to the fact the dog went everywhere with Stuart.
In 1970 Stuart met his partner Tony Curtin and the Shiloh prefix was formed. Tony had his own dogs namely a GSD, Westie and a Min Pom. Tony realised that he liked Boxers as well so Boxers were the breed they started to show and breed. Obviously it was with difficulty as both partners had demanding full time jobs. Although Boxers were their main breed Bulldogs were always in the background. However they did manage the following highlights:
